Our most recent project is in support to Armor Group North America supporting their clearance project in Gerdec, Albania. This was an interesting challenge; EOD Contracts designed a bespoke clearance mitigation strategy which included: Locator search, mechanical screening of soil and geophysical data logging with colour coded mapping to ensure the finished product was fit for it purpose.

ECL personnel conducted Mines Risk Education "MRE" courses for its clients and advises on all matters relating to Ordnance Clearance. These courses were tailor made to suit the clients identified threat.

ECL employees became an integral part of the clients project management team and represented the client in every aspect of the project.

Difference Strategies and Methodologies

EOD Contracts has been commissioned on several occasions to review and comment on mitigation proposals submitted to our clients by other major UXO mitigation companies. It is important to remember that there is often more than one solution to the problem of UXO contamination. Different approaches can achieve the desired results and it is up to the client to determine which best fits their business strategy and company ethos or philosophy. In a highly risk averse society it is sometimes tempting the think that more is better and that the best approach is to use every mitigation measure available to overcome the problem. However, this is not necessarily the case and a professionally designed and well executed mitigation strategies can provide an equally effective solution to UXO risk with significantly less impact on the environment and with less expense to the project than a scatter gun approach to the problem.
