Quality assurance and quality control. We carry out quality assurance "QA" and quality control "QC" on clearance operation both within the United Kingdom and abroad. We monitor the clearance process "QA" and carryout technical sampling procedures to ensure the quality has been maintain throughout the clearance process.
EOD Contracts Ltd also provides quality audits on clearance companies on behalf of the client.
Risk Assessments and desktop studies. There are two levels of Risk Assessment or Desktop Study that may be commissioned; both types are comprehensive, accurate and effective drawing on multi-source information and our specialist expertise:
General - conducted for the general geographical area of the work site.
Site Specific - conducted for the specific site boundary and adjacent plots. Site specific technical risk assessments can be carried out for our clients based on our experience and evidence.
These documents will provide an accurate level of threat and risk, carefully considered conclusions and sound recommendations for further strategies. If required a technical briefing will be conducted with your management team.
UXO Project Management. EOD contracts Ltd carries out the complete project management process on behalf of the client or an individual can be placed in the clients QHSE department to advise on the safest way forward for construction tasks which may include the following: EOD risk mitigation; desktop studies; surveys on the affected areas including surface and subsurface detection systems; anomaly investigation; on-site support (safety briefings etc); emergency response teams; clearance and disposal including a clearance certificate.
UXO Project management training. We offer specialist UXO project management training for UXO project management staff with Demining or UXO responsibilities. The training provided is bespoke in nature and is dovetailed to the clients HSE policies and we provide one-to-one tuition on the following critical topics:
- Ammunition Design
- International Mine Actions Standards "IMAS"
- Mine Risk Education "MRE"
- Contract Management
We provide non-intrusive surveys that can detect bombs buried in the ground to a maximum depth of six metres dependant on the size of the weapon and the prevailing geological conditions.
Where weapons are suspected at greater depths and construction design requires piling or deep excavations, an intrusive detection method is the answer. This type of search has proved invaluable to the construction industry, ensuring that the risk from UXO to its personnel and equipment is kept to the absolute minimum.
Whatever your requirement let us mitigate the risk from UXO on your site before construction activities begin.
EOD Contracts Ltd provide a wide range of on-site support services from Land Survey and Certification to Specialist EOD Banks-men, ensuring the work is subjected to the minimum of delays and is carried out in the safest possible manner.
We have years of experience in Landmine and UXO Clearance creating countries specific demining standard operating procedures, "SOPs", complying with the United Nations International Mines Action Standards, "UNIMAS". SOP's are living documents and are tailored to meet the client's needs but still maintaining ALL internationally recognised codes of practises.
Mine Risk Education "MRE". Our Mine Risk Education "MRE" packages are tailor made to meet our clients specific needs. Our MRE team is ready to deploy worldwide at short notice to ensure the safety of our clients' employees and our clients' local inhabitants.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal. We explosive ordnance disposal for bulk demolitions ensuring rapid removal of the UXO contamination. Depending on the countries environmental policies the bulk demolitions can be carried out subsurface and/or bundied to ensure that ground contamination is kept to a minimum.
Demilitarisation of Weapons and Ordnance. We provide highly qualified personnel to decommission weapons and ordnance, from initial recovery to disposal. Reverse demilitarisation can be carried out if the client so prefers. More information can be gained on this specialist subject by contacting our office.
Explosive Demolition Training. We build local expertise by providing explosive demolition training teams that teach the local populace the necessary skills to effectively carry out UXO and mine clearance activities, safely and efficiently.
This is carried out after the site has been surveyed and potential items of ordnance identified. The criteria for target investigation is established based upon the perceived threat, taking account of the previous history of the land, the future use to which the land will be put together with the proposed construction methods that will be employed.
Once the target criteria is set, EOD Contracts will deploy an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EODT) to access and expose each target individually, ensuring a positive identification of all items of ordnance.
There are three methods used by EOD Contracts for accessing each target, dependant upon: Size of the target, location, depth and ground conditions:
- Open cast excavations (Preferred option).
- Vertical and horizontal shafting and shoring.
- Specialist temporary works.
Once an item of ordnance has been identified, the on site EOD engineers will carry out a Threat Assessment (TA). The EOD Engineer will identify the hazards and inform the appropriate authorities and liaise with them on behalf of our clients. The disposal of the ordnance is generally carried out by a military EOD team.
EOD Contracts provide our clients with bespoke customer focused solutions when it comes to mitigating our clients' explosive ordnance disposal problems. At EOD Contracts we pride ourselves on making our clients problems disappear.

Our recently commissioned Rapid Survey Array is designed to survey large areas of land for the presence of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) contamination. The system utilises satellite (DGPS) and computer linked state-of-the-art magnetometers to provide exceptionally high quality data and accuracy (<10cm). It is capable of surveying in almost any environment gathering data quickly and efficiently. All of the data is subjected to rigorous assessment and quality checks by our experienced survey professionals and can be presented in a number of industry standard formats.
The array can be towed behind an all terrain quad motorbike, 4 x 4 Vehicle or modified for use on water. This quick, efficient survey system is typically capable of surveying 5 hectares of land per day, producing little or no environmental or ecological impact. The system ensures that potential dangers can be accurately plotted and avoided or safely removed, effectively reducing; risk, delays and unnecessary costs.
Our Clients demand and deserve the best and we pride ourselves in exceeding their expectations. We ensure that we provide a timely, accurate, high quality product at competitive prices. All of our surveys are covered by our professional insurances, and reports are provided as a bound document and in electronic format on CD.
